Q: Is there CASAC training for LMHCs?
Yes. Licensed Mental Health Counselors take the same postgraduate track. Our CASAC training for LMHC candidates recognizes your graduate coursework, so LMHCs complete the 135-hour path rather than the full program. Like our CASAC training for social workers, it is self-paced, online, and OASAS-approved, and it positions you to serve clients with substance use disorders alongside your current license.
Q: Can other licensed professionals qualify for your postgraduate CASAC training?
Yes. Our Postgraduate CASAC training is open to master’s-level behavioral health clinicians who hold an advanced degree in one of five approved fields: Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychotherapy or Psychoanalysis, and Creative Arts Therapy. If your graduate degree falls in one of these areas, you can focus on the sections of the curriculum that cover substance use disorder treatment and complete the shorter 135-hour postgraduate track instead of the full 350-hour program. Like our CASAC training for social workers and LMHCs, it is self-paced, online, and OASAS-approved. If you are not sure whether your degree qualifies, reach out and we will confirm your eligibility before you enroll.
